Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Peak State Global (we, us, our) handles personal information when you use Peak State Astrolabe (the Service). We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. What we collect
- Account information — your name and email address, provided when you sign in (including via Google sign-in).
- Content you create — focal questions, your sphere-of-influence details, scenarios and maps you generate, perspectives you inject at decision points, tags, and any evidence, notes, or sources you add to a map.
- Technical information — basic log and device data, and performance metrics, collected automatically so the Service works and stays reliable.
- Cookies — essential cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
2. How we collect it
We collect information directly from you when you sign up and use the Service, automatically as you interact with it, and — where you choose to sign in with a third party such as Google — from that provider (limited to what is needed to authenticate you).
3. How we use it
We use personal information to:
- provide, operate, and secure the Service and your account;
- generate and store your maps, scenarios, and analysis, including by sending your inputs to an AI model for processing (see clause 4);
- respond to your requests and provide support;
- diagnose errors and improve reliability and performance; and
- comply with our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. AI processing
The Service sends the inputs you provide — your focal question and related content — to a third-party AI provider to generate scenarios, leverage points, and related analysis. This data is sent only to produce your result. Our AI provider is engaged under terms that do not permit your inputs or outputs to be used to train their models. As noted in our Terms & Conditions, AI output can be wrong — treat it as material to verify, not fact.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Service, bound to use it only for that purpose. These include providers for:
- authentication and identity (including Google sign-in);
- cloud hosting and database storage;
- AI processing (see clause 4);
- background job processing;
- error monitoring and performance analytics.
We may also disclose personal information where required by law, or as part of a genuine business transfer (such as a sale or merger), in which case it remains subject to protections consistent with this Policy.
6. Overseas disclosure (APP 8)
Some of our service providers store and process personal information outside Australia, most commonly in the United States. Before disclosing personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
7. Security
We protect personal information using encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
8. Retention and deletion
We keep your personal information while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the Service. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data by contacting us; we will do so unless we are required to retain certain records by law. Note that removing a piece of evidence from a map does not necessarily delete data already generated from or associated with it.
9. Access, correction, and portability (APP 12 & 13)
You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by emailing contact@peakstate.global. We will respond within a reasonable time.
10. Complaints
If you have a privacy concern, contact us first at contact@peakstate.global and we will work to resolve it. If you are not satisfied, you can escalate to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
11. Children
The Service is not intended for people under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy from time to time; the “last updated” date above shows when. For any privacy question, contact contact@peakstate.global. See also our Terms & Conditions.
